When problems are encountered, they are invariably caused by simple errors in layout, cabling or connections. Knowing the guidelines on installing and testing of PROFIBUS devices and cables, such problems can be avoided at the outset, rather than after the installation is complete, when correction may require expensive re-routing or re-wiring. Part I of PROFIBUS in Practice covers the layout, installation and testing of complete PROFIBUS DP and PA networks and makes sure that installation technicians are fully aware of the requirements for successful PROFIBUS installations and highlights how to avoid many common, but potentially costly, pitfalls.
